What is Human Design?
Human Design weaves togethers aspects of Western astrology, the Hindu Chakra System, the Chinese I Ching and the Kabbalah Tree of Life to give a "blueprint" of how energy uniquely moves through an individual. Similar to a map of ocean currents, it charts how energy flows across the landscapes of the 9 centers (the centers are similar to the chakras....heart center, throat center, etc). The way energy most freely flows through a person's blueprint is unique to each individual, and is what human design is here to offer.
Origin story
Human Design has a rather unusual origin story. In 1987, a person named Alan Krakower—a former Canadian advertising exec who had left his previous life behind and was living in Ibiza - claimed to have undergone an 8 day experience in which he heard a mysterious "Voice" that transmitted the Human Design System to him. He spent those eight days documenting what he received, and then dedicated the rest of his life to refining and teaching the system until his death in 2011.
Whether you see it as a mystical transmission, a synthesis of ancient wisdom, or simply an intriguing model of human nature, what has kept Human Design alive is not its origin story, but the number of people who find it surprisingly accurate and genuinely useful.
